Superintendent’s Message
The Elk Mound Area School District is pursuing a $15.7 million referendum in the April 7, 2020 election. I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to the community for their input throughout this process. Whether you participated in one of our strategic planning meetings, served on the Facilities Focus Committee, or responded to the School Perceptions survey, your ongoing participation in the conversation helped us shape the project scope. The Board of Education and I have trusted the feedback we received and let it guide us along the way.
If you have any questions, I urge you to contact me or any Board of Education member. We welcome the opportunity to answer your questions as we continue to embrace our mission of helping our youth become responsible citizens who seek to contribute to our society in positive ways.
Where can we learn more about potential projects?

How will this impact taxes?
The Elk Mound Area School District’s last building referendum was in 2009 for additions and renovations to District facilities. The school has remained fiscally conservative in regards to current and future taxes. This economical mindset, coupled with debt falling off over the next three years, will help to lessen the tax impact with a passed referendum to $78/year or $6.50/month per $100,000 of property value.
The chart below illustrates the mill rate for local school districts. The Elk Mound Area School District’s mill rate falls on the lower end of the spectrum, well below the state average of 9.34.
